because the strategies are not good strategies, but because its
difficult to implement strategy.
The Balanced Scorecard
(from Drs Kaplan & Norton) is a proven methodology for
implementing
the business strategy. Unless you intentionally use a methodology like
this, the strategy will just remain a piece of paper or a poster on the
wall.
The balanced scorecard is essentially a set of
measurements known as Key performance indicators. The balance comes
from measuring the business through the eyes of 4 different
perspectives and fining measurements that answer the following
questions:
1. Financial Perspective – What do the Shareholder
want?
2. Customer Perspective – What value do we offer
our customers? (Value proposition)

customers and Shareholder which processes must we excel at?
4. Learning & Growth Perspective – How will leverage our
leadership, people, culture and systems to improve and sustain the
business?
